Tanja Halsall, MA, CPHR, SHRM-SCP

Chief People Officer

Tanja Halsall has significant strategic and tactical human resource and management experience within many industries including Professional Services, Manufacturing, Sales, Winery, Healthcare, Hospitality, Technology and the Not-for-Profit sector. In addition to supporting various businesses in the Okanagan through Potentia, she works with the Faculty of Management at UBC Okanagan as an Adjunct Professor and previously a Personal Development Coach and Instructor within the Masters of Management program.

With a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, (Canada), a Senior Certified Professional designation (SHRM-SCP) with the Society of Human Resource Management (worldwide), Masters of Arts (MA) in Leadership, Post- Diploma in Human Resource Management, and having completed a coaching program certificate by the European Mentorship and Coaching Council (EMCC), Tanja is committed to lifelong learning; one of the most effective ways to strive for excellence. As a personal development coach, Tanja tends to take a collaborative and interactive approach; asking thought provoking questions to assist her coachees achieving their development objectives. As a progressive Engagement Consultant, Tanja helps organizations minimize risk, offers tools and guidance in providing an exceptional employee experience and creates award winning workplaces by adopting best in class Human Resource and People practices.

She takes pride in drawing out the best in each person by building strong relationships, identifying and building on individuals’ personal strengths, and helping them and their organization reach their full potential.

Kevin Tucker, M. Ed., CPHR

Engagement Consultant

Kevin received a high level of leadership and management training during his time in the military as a Royal Naval Supply Officer. Leaving the military at a natural breakpoint, he went on to use these broad skills and levels of self-motivation as a consultant in staffing, communication and education fields in both public and private sectors. During this time, he completed a Masters' Degree in Education and Training Management which added teaching theory to prior practical experience.

Since landing in Canada in 2004, Kevin has earned his CPHR designation and has established himself as a leading Human Resources professional and has applied a balanced and practical approach towards supporting the needs of the business while focused on people development. Kevin maintains high levels of engagement with those he is mentoring and advising, deploying active listening skills and coaching people to realize ambitions and aspirations towards company priorities and targets.

Kevin is known for establishing processes and procedures that provide a strong foundation for organizational success, has extensive recruitment experience, an eye for talent management, and has guided both strategic and tactical people-focused activities with various organizations.

Deepak Garcha, BBA, CPHR

Engagement Associate

Along with being a member of the Potentia team, Deepak is a passionate Human Resources professional who has held multiple volunteer roles with the Human Resources Management Association (HRMA) over the course of her career. She enjoys finding adventure at home in the Okanagan and in her travels. Spending quality time with family and friends and giving back to the local community are top priorities.

Deepak brings a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Okanagan College and over nine years of diverse Human Resources experience in a variety of industries. During this time, Deepak has developed an HR Business Partner mindset, and has utilized her excellent communication and relationship skills to build strategic partnerships.

Achieving much success in establishing foundation HR programs and practices such as talent attraction and retention, training and development, goal setting and performance management, leadership development, occupational health and safety, makes Deepak a terrific addition to the Potentia team.

Jennifer McKenzie, BBA, CPHR

Engagement Associate

Jennifer was born and raised in Kelowna and has spent most of her professional life in the Okanagan. She graduated from Okanagan College with a Bachelor in Business Administration degree With Distinction, and also proudly holds her designation as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources. Jennifer brings many years of private and public sector business knowledge to Potentia and draws on this experience when working on behalf of our clients.

Jennifer is skilled in areas such as HR Policies, Compensation and Benefits, Talent Attraction and Retention, HRIS project implementation, Disability Management, Culture Development, Career Planning, Mentoring, Conflict Resolution, Performance Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Collective Agreements, and Operations Management including several office renovations and capital procurement projects.

When working with Jennifer you can expect a positive, collaborative approach with a strategic focus on solutions. As a dedicated Human Resources professional, she demonstrates a commitment to leading and supporting effective people practices to best help businesses achieve their goals.
